The tabulating machine was an electromechanical machine designed to assist in summarizing information stored on punched cards. The tabulating machine was also known as ‘Hollerith desk’. It could automatically read data from punched and count the data. It was invented by an American statistical Herman Hollerith, who works in census of U.S. The machine was used to help process data for the 1880 and for the 1890AD census of U.S.
