Solid-font printer is a types of impact printer. In which the
complete shape of each character of the repertoire (store) is engraved
(running) or molded onto a font carrier. The font carrier may be one of a
number of forms including a molded wheel, as in a daisywheel printer, or an
etched (etching is traditionally the process of using strong acid or mordant to
cut into the unprotected parts of a metal surface to create a design) band of
metal, as in a band printer
