Notepad

It is a windows application. It is a text editor. It creates plain text and It also creates HTML (Hyper Text Markup Language) documents. It's has 64K file size or (1000-64000 chars.). Default file extension of Notepad is .txt.

Title Bar:

            It is located top of the windows. It is display the program name/file name. It indicates the active windows. It provides different controls for windows (Close, Maximize and Minimize)

Close (X): It is a command of title bar. It is used to close the open program.

Maximize (□): It is a command of title bar. It is used to maximize the program.

Minimize (―): It is a command of title bar. It is used to maximize the open program.

Menu Bar:

            It appears just below than title bar. It contains different group of commands that are assigned under specific category. The underline/highlighted letter of menu/dialog box is called Hot key. (Hot key can be access with the help Alt key). It contains different types of command menu such as file, edit, format, view and help etc.

            Or

Simple Click on Command.

 

            Working Area:

            Status Bar: It shows the status of document. It is located below of open windows.

 How to open Notepad?

First Method-1 (Using Start button)

-         Click on Start (Click mouse left button on start)

-     Type Notepad on search box.

-         Press Enter button of keyboard.

Then Notepad windows will be appearing.

                    OR

Second Method-2 (Using Run command)

-    Press Windows button + R on keyboard.

            Then Run dialog box will display.

-         Type Notepad on Run dialog box.

-         Click on OK button or Press Enter button on keyboard.

        After that Notepad windows will be appearing.

        OR

Third Method-3 (Using Shortcut file of Notepad/Text document)

-         Press Right button of mouse on desktop.

-         Click On New.

 -         Click on Text document.

        After that Notepad shortcut will be appearing.

 

-         Double click left mouse button on new text document.txt.

                           Or

-         Click right button of mouse on new text document.txt

-         Click on Open. After that Notepad windows will be appearing.
